The final reflection

  1. What is something that happened this semester (in this class or outside of class) that you think you will remember for the rest of your life?
I went to Ruth and Kristen’s house and had wonderful meals in the Thanksgiving break.
2.     What is something specific you accomplished this semester that you are proud of?
I finished my first academic class this semester. Whatever the grade I will get, I passed. I was glad of this class that let me feel more comfortable about the speaking speed.
  1. What was the nicest thing someone in our program or at Millersville did for you this semester?
Cliff really helped me with my speeches and I did great job in speech classes
  1. What was the most challenging part of this semester for you (in class or outside of class)?
I found that trying to understand what young students say is challenging.
  1. Where is your favorite place on Millersville's campus? Why?
I love the library, there are many books and almost every book I searched for I can get it in the library. It was amazing to have such an amazing system.
  1. If you could change one thing that happened this semester, what would it be?
I want to talk more with my roommates and may be we can be friends.
  1. What is something that was hard for you at the start of the semester but is easy now?
I found I can order food by myself in any restaurant in Lancaster.
  1. What is something you taught your teacher or classmates this year?
We taught Cliff to say some Chinese words and I also taught Jeremy to say “thanks” and “you are welcome” in Chinese.
  1. Of the trips we took this year (to Lancaster Central Market and the walking tour, to Wheatland to the North Museum [if you went on your own], and to Eshleman Elementary School), which was your favorite? Why?
I liked the North Museum most. Because there are many animal specimens that I really enjoyed to learn. There are also many great art works, and maybe give me some ideas to create myself.
  1. What is something the ELI teachers or administrators could have done to make this semester better?
I think we’d better reduce the amount of the Lab homework. We can have more time to focus on other classes.
  1. What are six adjectives that best describe this semester for you?
Rich, meaningful, tough, pleased, regretful.
  1. Knowing what you know now, if you could write a letter to yourself that would travel back in time so that you would receive it at the start of the semester, what advice would you give your younger self?
I would tell myself that I should be more talkative and do more things by myself to be independence.
  1. What advice would you give students who will be coming to the ELI next year?
Listen carefully to every class and take notes. It really helps you get used to the life of America.
  1. What is one question you still wonder about life at Millersville University?
I still wonder that why American students wear sport shorts in such cold winter.
